Drumming is not only about pounding the drums with a couple of sticks. It is more about the beat and bringing life to the music. A band is noticeably dull if it does not have a drummer to liven up their performances and recordings.
It may be true that the drums and the drummers sometimes stay in the background. But if you listen closely to a live song and music played without drums, you can discern that the song becomes off and not as good and lively than when played with drums.
The drum set is the heart of the entire performance. This instrument has the ability to attract people to stand up and dance with the power of its beats. Everywhere you go, kids are fascinated with the drummer and the way he beats on his drums.
Many of them often ask their parents for a set to learn and play with. This is because this instrument is an object of fun and excitement. They create music in their own simple and most effective way.
Many people who want to convey their music through drums have been criticized. Some neighbors and family members will automatically complain and object to the loudness and noise of the drums.
This could possibly be true, but this is a form of self-expression where you are always free to beat and bang your drums all you like. It's not important if you are not a good drum player as long as you like and enjoy what you do.

As mentioned earlier, learning drumming is a way to express what you feel. This is a highly efficient way to reduce stress,anger, loneliness and sorrow. Get your drums and beat it for as long as you like to release the tension you are feeling, leaving all worries and concerns behind.
One other reason to love this instrument, aside from a channel to pour out your feelings and reactions, is that it can also be a way to enhance one's creative skills. Drums have always been there during important art, music, ceremonial rites or traditions are held and celebrated.
Many of the older generations believe that playing the drums is equivalent to linking our hearts to music so that we feel more alive and active. People, through these drums, tend to get off their feet and start shaking and moving their bodies to the rhythm.
These, among others, are reasons why anyone will love drumming. Different people have their own reasons to play drums and get fascinated with it. One thing is for sure though, once you hold your drum sticks, you can't stop from playing over and over again.
