It is fascinating to talk people from throughout North America and discuss their thoughts regarding the cosmetic plastic surgery industry. While those who are well informed about the industry or, have gone through a few procedures themselves can talk at length about cosmetic enhancements and have some really interesting views, there are others who are quite clueless even now. Of course most of them know what these procedures involve, but many associate the entire industry with a specific cosmetic procedure.
I recently came across someone who thought cosmetic and plastic surgery was mainly breast enhancements or breast implants. I was completely taken aback with her views but it actually got me thinking. I started asking people on what came to their minds when they heard the words "cosmetic or plastic surgery" and their answers were truly eye opening.
Of course many to whom spoke did not have any idea regarding cosmetic procedures and thought breast implants were the main focus of this industry. Some knew that breast augmentation was consistently in the top 2 most popular surgical procedures in the world and hence named "breast implants" as what came to their mind when they thought about the industry.
The other most popular procedure which people associated with plastic surgery was "getting a nose job". Many thought a nose job was the most popular form of plastic surgery as most talk about celebrities and procedures usually begin with a particular actress getting a nose job. Of course it is not far from the truth considering most of the celebrities who have undergone any plastic surgery procedures have had a nose job as well.
While Liposuction remained one of the topmost plastic surgery procedures performed each year around the world, not many named this type of cosmetic surgery as what they would normally associate plastic surgery with. Out of the non surgical procedures, it was no surprise that Botox came to everyone's mind moment they heard of non-surgical cosmetic enhancements. Botox is definitely the most popular non surgical procedure in the cosmetic surgery industry and the numbers are only growing with each passing day.
