Millions of people commonly experience from insomnia each year; Insomnia is forty one percent more widespread in women as compared to men. Insomnia is a indication that is concerned with sleep, medicinal and psychiatric disorder, illustrious by regular difficulty in lessening sleep or difficulty in staying asleep. Types of insomnia: Even though there exist numerous different stage of insomnia, three types of insomnia have been clearly acknowledged they are: transient, acute, and chronic. Transient insomnia lasts for less than a week. Chronic insomnia continues for more than a month.. Its consequence differs according to its source. symptoms like unable to sleep,muscular fatigue,hallucinations,or mental fatigue are common and might differ according to the source,in chronic insomnia it shows repeated alertness.

Examples of insomnia: Onset insomnia - difficulty in falling asleep at the beginning of the night, often connected with fretfulness. Middle of the night Insomnia - distinguished by trouble in returning back to sleep after awakening in the middle of the night or arousing before time in the morning. Nocturnal awakenings involve middle and terminal insomnia. Nocturnal polyuria- extreme nighttime urination can be very disturbing to sleep. Middle insomnia is waking during the middle of the night, difficulty in maintaining sleep. Regularly related with medical illness or any type of pain. Poor sleep quality can arise because of strong depression. Some sleep complaint such as insomnia has existed due to compromise glucose metabolism. Sleep apnea is caused when a sleeping persons breathing is interrupted.

A study found that those who sleep approximately 7 hours per night had the less rates of death, whereas those who sleep for less than six hours or more than 8 hours had higher death rates.Mortality rate increase is one of the reasons of excessive intake of sleeping pills. The less death was seen in individuals who sleep between six to seven hours each night. Insomnia can be caused by: Psychoactive drugs or stimulants including caffeine, medications, cocaine, and life problems like stress fear anxiety, emotional or mental tension, work problems, financial stress, or mental disorders, poor sleep hygiene, for example noise.Insomnia could be common after the loss of a loved one, even years or decades after the death, if they have not gone through the grieving process. The symptoms of insomnia differ in their severity according to the persons mental health,physical condition,attitude or personality.

A general misperception is that the amount of sleep required decreases as a person grows older. The ability to sleep for long periods, rather than the need for sleep, appears to be lost as people get older. It is important to identify or rule out medical and mental causes before deciding on the medication for the insomnia.
