THE Interior Ministry has asked the Guardia Civil to investigate the sale of laughing gas in bars, pubs, and clubs within Alicante.
This comes as more and more teenagers turn to the gas as an inexpensive alternative to getting high and is becoming a worrying trend.
Whilst no sales of the gas have been found as of yet, selling it is expected to be classed as a crime under public health - although - it is currently not illegal to possess or use the gas which could severely affect your health if over used or abused.
Nitrous oxide (N20), a multi-purpose chemical is used as a mild anaesthetic but is also used as a rocket fuel and should not be used as a recreational drug as it can have serious side effects. These side effects include: -
nausea / dizziness
paranoia
hallucinations
Even internal burning and lung collapse if inhaled directly from a canister.
