Camera is one of the most exciting and amazing inventions of modern science.It is a device which records images on paper or on the film.These images may be referred as still photographs or motion images which are often referred as videos or movies.
The word is derived from the Latin word Camera Obscura which means dark room which was an initial mechanism for projecting images.These are meant to work with the visible or with the electromagnetic spectrums of light.This word was used by Johannes Kepler who was a German astronomer early in the seventeenth century.

The very first machine of this type was invented by the Chinese philosopher Mo Ti during fifth century.He made a note of an inverted image that was produced by the light rays, when this light was allowed to pass through the pin hole into a darkened chamber.The darkened chamber was named as collecting place or treasure room by Mo Ti.
The quality of the images of the camera was not so good up to sixteenth century but with the introduction of convex lens into the aperture, the quality of the image was improved.
The modern day camera makes use of glass lenses for focusing and capturing light within a flash and facilitating us to magnify these images.The images so produced exhibit each and every detail as compare to the initial films.These also have digital sensors which could be sometimes replacing the film.Most of the modern type exhibits shutters for restricting the light from reaching the film or sensor just by clicking a button.They also exhibit a very intense flash for getting the brighter images and to capture every detail of the picture.
