If you could reach just one goal in 2010, which one would it be?
How much of a difference in your life would it make if you reached it?
So, how is 2008 shaping up for you? Will it be just another ho-hum year that started with great intentions (that maybe have faded away) or will this be YOUR Year?
Go back to the goals that you set earlier this year, most likely with great enthusiasm: Losing weight, spending more time with your family, getting out of debt, improving the cashflow and profit in your business, changing careers or starting a new business (that you've been talking about for years). Maybe there are more that you've forgotten about?
Are you tired of being stuck in the same gear? I'd like to tell you a bit about one of our clients and one of our franchisees, who both decided this past year that is was time for them to get un-stuck!
Let me tell you about one of our coaching clients...
His name is Gary and he was tired of being "stuck" before he finally decided to hire an ActionCOACH business coach. He had been working IN his business for nearly 10 years and never found the time to work ON his business. He wrestled for two or three years with the idea of getting help, but kept thinking he could do it all by himself, if only he could find the right team members and the time! Earlier this year he had a "break through" and realized that he could NOT do it alone; he needed an outside perspective and someone to help him identify the vision, mission and goals for his life and his business.
Gary continues to learn the value of planning by attending our quarterly Massive Action Days (our 90-day planning workshops) and he receives peer-to-peer support in our Group Coaching and Profit Club programs. He describes his weekly one-on-one coaching as, "The time where the rubber meets the road in getting systems and processes in place for my business. In a good way it forces me to get things done!"
Gary is going through "6 Steps to Growing Your Business" (our long-term coaching program) as a Silver Mentoring client. Gary says, "Everyone needs a coach to improve their accountability and discipline. This has been a fantastic experience for me, my family and my business!"
Action has a program at every level for business owners and their teams; including start-ups and long-time established enterprises. The required time and investment are relative to how actively you want to grow yourself and your business. Every program starts with the basics, which include establishing goals, setting priorities and then adding an accountability plan for implementation. This is what successful coaching is all about.
Meet Dianne, one of our newer business coaches...
Since college at UNI, Dianne has always been a business owner. She was looking for a new business/career opportunity for two reasons; first, she had grown one of her businesses to the point where it ran without her so she had time to do other things. Second, another business venture was not providing the satisfaction nor meeting her passion, which is to work and assist small business owners. When she learned about the chance to become an Action Business Coach, her decision to become a franchisee was a "no-brainer" in her own words!
Over the past 10 months in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area, Dianne has conducted many seminars, spoke at training conferences, led planning workshops, started group coaching and Profit Club programs and is mentoring clients one on one. She has impacted hundreds of business owners in a very short period of time and as she states, "We have only started to scratch the surface in reaching small business owners. We need more coaches because the need is great in the small business community. I am loving it, and see great potential for what we can do at Action to help people."
So, where are you? Do you need help to grow your business? Is it time to seriously look at finding a new career or business opportunity?
We've had an incredible year in the Iowa/Nebraska region. Our team of coaches have changed the lives and positively impacted over a thousand business owners, their teams and their famlies in the past year. I have also helped several people get into business for themselves, which can be both very scary and very exciting. For me, helping others to achieve their dreams is very rewarding. It is my mission in life.
But as Dianne rightly says, we haven't even scratched the surface yet. And that became very clear to me, personally, as I was reviewing my 2007 goals over the past few weeks. It's got me excited about the New Year and I'm thinking (and planning) bigger than I ever have before. In fact, the same process we teach in Action has helped my business and it can help yours as well. Or you maybe want to get into another business. 2008 will be incredible for our team because we practice what we teach. And I know our programs can help you in the same way as we look forward to 2008.
So, here are the questions: When are you going to hire a coach so you are not "stuck in the same gear" a year from now? Or when are you going to make that career change or find a new business - when will you take the first steps? When are you going to make a change?
To help you analyze, look at the Change Formula: D x V + F > R = C
In order for things to CHANGE your Dissatisfaction times your Vision, plus your First Steps, have to be greater than your Resistance in order to equal Change. Think about that. What component is missing for you?
Now is the time of year to start the change process as you prepare and plan for the next year. Now is the time to decide to no longer be stuck! Now is the time to work ON your business and ON yourself.
It's time for you to make some decisions.
Have a great month and a very thankful Christmas season with your family!
