You must know that to play the flute with any level of proficiency you will have to set aside time to practice. Set goals for yourself and give yourself rewards for meeting those goals. It's all a matter of planning out your time before you start. If you take the time to plan your time out then you are one step ahead of yourself.
When you just decide you are going to take a class and then make no plans for practice time or for class time you have "shot yourself in the foot" even before you have started.
