By now anyone that has ever surfed the Internet has noticed there are thousands on online web sites that offer free or instant data base searches to obtain a customer name and address from a phone number. Many of these sites claim they can successfully reverse any number , even prepaid cell phone numbers, usually at ridiculously low prices or some even claim to do it for free. The one thing you'll find that most of these sites have in common is that shortly after placing the order for the free search you'll be asked for money to proceed. At each stage of the search you'll be asked to agree to new terms and conditions an by the time you're finished placing your order you'll find you've spent quite a bit of money and have no real guarantee that the information you're buying is current or accurate.
But don't lose hope, you can get a name and address from a cell phone number even if it is a pre paid cellular service. It's just very unlikely that you will get it from a free or instant data base search. Everyday all over the country private investigators are hired to locate witnesses in criminal and civil trials. They have access to every possible data base , many are only available to licensed professionals with legitimate reasons to access this data. That is information found of credit headers and banking headers. You're not going to be able to access that information on any free or instant online data base search.

Even if a phone is an anonymous pre paid account there still may be identifying information on the detailed call records of the phone. When the person calls back to reply to the pretext message they receive a recording saying that they have to call from a land line in order to receive an important message. As you can see there is much more involved in a reverse phone number search than just a simple instant data base search. Especially if you're dealing with a prepaid cell phone that can be bought for cash at any conveyance store.
Another factor to consider when dealing with prepaid cell phones is cell phone forensics. Just because a phone is prepaid does not mean it's not a real phone with real phone service. As far as cell phone forensics go it's the same process as a phone bought from a carrier with service billed monthly. A forensic examination of the phone, even a prepaid phone will return the same report as a monthly billed phone. You can recover call logs, deleted texts , pics, and emails plus much more depending on the make and model of the phone.
